I enjoy providing the ladies who grace my studio with wardrobe options that are a bit outside of her normal look. Part of the fun of a photo shoot is stepping a bit outside your comfort zone. This is why I keep 4″ stilettos, sexy stockings and negliges ready to wear for each shoot. These may not be things that you would normally own. Well, now I am thrilled to announce that I have paired up with my studio neighbor, Savor Designs seamstress and costume designer extraordinaire! Stephanie is exceptionally skilled an has a large collection of corsets in a variety of sizes, ranging up to and including size 16. The fabric she has chosen for her corsets vary from dark and sexy to colorful and romantic.
Traditionally , corsets were made with steel boning to create shape in the body. Stephanie’s corsets have the look of boning, plus slight waist shaping but without the restriction of the actual steel boning. which also makes her corsets more affordable. The two over bust corsets picture here run at about $60 each which is perfect if you are new to the idea of a corset (traditional steel boned corsets can run up to and over $300!).
Corsets typically come in two styles: over bust and under bust. This is an over bust corset that is laced up the back with black laces. The fabric here is a gorgeous green and purple silk with boning. My model wore this with a black lace thong for the shoot.
This red and black embroidered beauty is an example of an under bust corset and falls right below the bust line. This particular corset looks great paired up with a black bra and panties set. It’s a great way to get creative with a sexy look while still keeping some coverage in the tummy area.
These gorgeous corsets aren’t just designed to be worn in the bedroom. Here we have the gray floral over bust corset paired up with a pair of cutoff jean shorts and biker boots. This particular corset laces up both sides, instead of the back. We’ve topped the look off with a bright pink lipstick and a black strand necklace that I keep here in the studio wardrobe. In addition to these ‘off the rack’ designs, custom designed corsets are also available. These require a consultation with Stephanie so that she can get your proper measurements. Steel boning is also available for custom orders at an additional cost. If you are interested in wearing a corset for our boudoir photo shoot please let me know and we will discuss it during your consultation.
